This privacy policy for OpenAnchors.org Development Team ("we," "us," or "our"), describes how and why we might collect, store, and use ("process") your information when you use our services ("Services"), such as when you download and use our mobile application Benchmarks (Android) and/or Benchmarks ∆ (iOS), hereinafter referred to as "Benchmarks application(s)" We believe very strongly in our customers’ right to privacy. Our customer records are not for sale or trade, and we will not disclose our customer data to any third party except as may be required by law.
No personal data collection.
We do not collect, use, save, or have access to any of your personally identifiable data through your use of Benchmarks applications.
Individual settings within the Benchmarks application are not personal and are stored only on your device. Providing the application with access to features on your device (GPS and internet access), are required for successful functional operation of the application.
App Analytics
To help us better understand how people use the Benchmarks applications and to continue improving the application, we may use standard analytics information or generalized data about our applications, such as app usage patterns, transactional, and other anonymized statistics if available. This data is completely anonymous and cannot personally identify you in any way.
Security Features
To prevent unauthorized use of the Benchmarks applications, we may implement standard application features to prevent unauthorized use of Benchmarks Applications. Any implemented security features are strictly for preventing unauthorized use of the Benchmarks applications and are not intended for any other purpose.
What information may be processed?
Application Data. If you use our application(s), we may
process the following information if you choose to provide the Benchmarks application with
access or permission:
▪ Geolocation Information: The Benchmarks application may request access or permission to track location-based information from your mobile device, either continuously or while you are using our mobile application(s), to
provide location-based services. If you wish to change our
access or permissions, you may do so in your device's settings. Geolocation information is only used to maintain the security and operation of the Benchmarks application
▪ Network and/or Device Information: The Benchmarks application may check information related to authenticating your use of the application in realtime for authorization purposes. We do not store your information for longer than required to authenticate your use of the application. The authentication information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may
include device and usage information, such as your IP address,
browser and device characteristics, operating system, language
preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location,
information about how and when you use our Services, and other
technical information. Network and/or device information is only used to
maintain the security and operation of our Services.
GDPR Compliance Statement
We respect and are committed to protecting your privacy. We do not collect, store, use, or share any personal data as defined by the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Since we do not process any personal data, the obligations under the GDPR, such as obtaining consent, providing data access, and deletion rights, do not apply to our service operations. Third-party services
Benchmarks application(s) may interact with other websites to pull information that you request regarding Benchmark data. The websites that Benchmarks interacts with primarily include but may not be limited to NOAA and USGS.
Clicking on Benchmark datasheets and other links from within the Benchmarks application will result in the opening of a web browser on your device. This action indicates that you are temporarily leaving our services to engage with the services of third parties like NOAA, USGS, and potentially other data providers. We are not responsible for anything related to your engagement with third party services.

We are not responsible for the availabilty of third party services. Our service provides you data from third party providers by linking you to that data. Although our expectation is that third party data will be available a majority of the time, we do not guarantee the availability of third party data.
